Katelin and Finn’s Yarra Valley wedding

From the very beginning, Katelin and Finn had a clear picture of what they didn’t want their wedding to be.

They weren’t interested in ticking boxes, following a script, or doing things simply because tradition says so. Instead, they wanted a day that felt calm, honest and deeply reflective of who they are together.

So they chose to get married mid-week at Bulong Estate.

There’s something quietly powerful about stepping away from the expected. For Katelin and Finn, it created space to focus on what mattered most - the commitment they were making and the people they wanted beside them as they made it.

One of the most beautiful reflections of this intention came right at the very start of the ceremony.

Katelin and Finn walked into the ceremony space together.

No dramatic pause.
No “waiting at the end of the aisle.”
Just two people arriving side by side who are already a team, already choosing one another.

It was a moment that said everything without needing explanation. This wasn’t about being given away. It was about walking forward together, exactly as they intended to continue their lives.

Bulong Estate provided the perfect backdrop for this kind of day. Peaceful, grounded and surrounded by nature and it held the ceremony gently rather than trying to compete with it. The whole experience felt unhurried, intentional and wonderfully real.

Katelin and Finn’s wedding was a lovely reminder that meaningful doesn’t have to be loud and that tradition is always optional. When couples give themselves permission to shape a day that reflects their values rather than expectations, something truly special happens.

It was an honour to stand with them, and just as importantly, to step back and let the moment speak for itself.
