C & M’s Wedding at the Post Office Hotel | A Beautiful Sri Lankan-Inspired Celebration
C & M’s story began at work.
Somewhere along the way, their working relationship became something much more and eventually brought them to their very special day at the Post Office Hotel.
C & M have already shared plenty of adventures together.
After navigating the challenges and uncertainty of COVID, they decided to take six months away from everyday life and travel through Europe and South America.
And since then, life has continued to move forward, leading them to their wedding day which is another wonderful milestone in a life they are building together.
And while there was one very important member of their family who couldn't be there in person, Ernie the dog was very much part of the day in spirit.
Ernie couldn't make it to the wedding, but there was no way C & M were going to let him miss out completely. In his honour, they brewed a very special beer, which they named Ernie’s Ale.
Their ceremony also included a traditional Sri Lankan Lighting the Lamp ceremony, adding another beautiful and meaningful element to the celebration.
The Pol Thel Pahana, or coconut oil lamp, symbolises light, health and success and the lighting of the lamp celebrates two families coming together.
C & M were joined by their parents as they lit the lamp and wished the couple all the best for the journey ahead.
And now, they have another wonderful memory to add to the collection of all the memories they've already created together.
It was a wonderful day, and I was so pleased to be a part of it.
Congratulations, C & M. Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your special day.
